6 days Travel: Tour Imperial Cities, Fortified Ruins and Middle Atlas

Day 1: Arrival to Rabat

Pick up at the airport or Hotel in Rabat, assistance and transfer to hotel/Riad. Rabat is the administrative capital city of the Kingdom. We will see Mechouar (ramparts and walls surrounding the Royal Palace), the fortified Oudaya Kasbah, the marvelous Mohamed V mausoleum and Hassan Tower. We will check-in to our Hotel in Rabat for overnight with dinner.

Día Day 2: Rabat - Meknes - Volubilis - Fez

After breakfast, depart to the third imperial city of Meknes, which was the capital city under the reign of Moulay Ismail. This city is famous for its 40 km long city walls that preserve the most beautiful gate of Morocco, Bab Al Mansour. We will also visit the Royal Stables which housed up to 12,000 horses of Sultan Moulay Ismail. Later we will continue to Fes with an optional stop at the holy city of Moulay Idriss where the founder of the Islam in Morocco is buried. You will also visit the roman city of Volubilis which features the best preserved excavations in this part of northern Africa dating from the Roman Empire. In 1997 the site was listed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Arrival to Fez and check-in to your riad for an Overnight with dinner.

Day 3: Tour Of Fez

After breakfast, you will begin a full day sightseeing tour of Fes, the most ancient imperial city, founded by Idriss I (789) and his son Moulay Idris II (810). You will visit the medieval Medina with its alleyways, Medersas (religious Islamic universities) Attarine and Bou Anania, the Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss mausoleum, and the Karaouine Mosque. After lunch you will continue to tour the medina with its stunning and traditional style of life before you return to the riad for the night with breakfast.

Day 4: Fez - Middle Atlas - Marrakech

After breakfast, depart to Marrakech across the Middle Atlas Mountains passing by the Berber villages. You will stop in Beni-Mellal, one of the agricultural centre and the largest towns in the Middle Atlas, for lunch. Giant cedar forests, volcanic mountains, strings of lakes and plains producing oranges, olives and sugar cane line the road. Along the way, visit Ifrane, a ski resort full of Alpine chalets with red-tiled roofs. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon. Check in to the hotel, dinner and overnight in Marrakech.

Day 5: Visit guided in Marrakech

Today you will meet your guide for a guided tour of Marrakech, the southern pearl of Morocco. You will discover the Bahia palace, the Saadian Tombs, and many other hidden treasures. After lunch, you will continue with the tour on to the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque and the famous Djemaa el-Fna, one of the center attractions of Marrakech. The tour will conclude with an exploration of the souks (markets) lined with various art objects of Morocco. Night will be at the hotel/riad.

Day 6: Marrakech - Casablanca - Rabat

After a relaxed morning, your last day of travel will take you back to Casablanca. For those wishing for extra time in Marrakech, feel free to depart in the early afternoon. We drive you to Casablanca and then to Rabat,... Journey's end.
